Courses & Workshops

We run a variety of courses and activities that will help you improve your skillsfind employment, and realise your full potential. Our great volunteers, who between them speak many different languages, deliver all the courses and activities.

English Classes

We offer a range of English classes including beginner, intermediate and IELTS. Our English language classes are for for speakers of other languages, designed for those whose first language is something other than English. The aim of these classes is to help learners to develop their skills and confidence in reading, writing, listening and speaking English.

To attend our classes, you must first register and be referred by your adviser.


Personal Branding Workshop

Monday 13th March from 14:00 – 17:00
In this workshop you will:
Have a clear idea of your own Personal Brand
Understand the features and benefits of yourself as a product
Gain an understanding of your personal impact and how you can change it to stay on brand
Find opportunities to increase the visibility of your brand
Identify how to communicate your personal brand clearly and confidently


Photography

Wednesday 15th March from 13:30 – 16:30
This workshop is about Manual mode and is suitable for beginners. It will cover:
Aperture,
Speed and ISO: take control of your images
Bring your digital cameras with manual mode or mobile phones with apps to emulate manual cameras.


Volunteering

Wednesday 29th March from 13:00 – 16:00
In this workshop we will look at how gaining work experience and developing your skills by volunteering can help with your job search and career development.
You will learn and explore:
The benefits of volunteering
Where to find volunteering roles
How to apply for volunteering roles
What type of roles are best suited for you
What to consider before starting to volunteer


Computer Classes

Every Thursday from 17:00 – 19:00
We organise mixed level computer classes with tailored learning for individuals, from beginner to upper – intermediate level. Learn keyboard skills, online search, MS Office,
social media and/or online marketing in a supportive environment.


Job Search Support Group

Every Tuesday from 17:00 – 19:00
Our job search support group will help you understand the labour market in the UK, online job search techniques and write CVs and cover letters.
We also offer, as part of the National Careers Service, one-to-one advice sessions on learning, training and employment.
