Customer Experience & Engagement Manager

Reporting to the Chief Executive and serving as a member of the Management Team, you will work strategically across the organisation, responsible for embedding and enabling a customer focussed continuous improvement culture across the organisation.

You will develop our customer communications systems to ensure that we:

  • Better understand our customers, their goals, aspirations, and challenges
  • Transform how we communicate with our customers according to their preferences
  • Create a simpler, seamless customer experience across the whole organisation
  • Listen to our customers about how we can continually improve our services
  • Create opportunities for our service users to engage in the design & delivery of our work

You will contribute to the strategic planning for the organisation, development of new programmes and projects, and development of policy work, by ensuring that the customer voice and customer experience is always at the heart of what we do.

ESOL and Training Coordinator

Reporting to the Integration & Community Development Manager, the ESOL and Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing, delivering, and coordinating our ESOL and training programmes.

We seek a passionate and organised individual with proven experience teaching and training to a diverse range of people, developing curricula, and coordinating a growing training programme.

You will have exceptional teaching and training coordination skills, able to work with students and trainees from a range of backgrounds and language skill levels.
You will also have a strong commitment to the rights of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

Senior Caseworker (Private Clients)

Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Caseworker (Private Clients) will be responsible for delivering high quality legal services on the full range of immigration issues for private individuals and corporate clients. You will also contribute to the growth & development of the private client practice.

There will be scope within the role to contribute to policy and influencing work relating to the immigration policy.

This position would be suited to a talented individual with at least 2 years’ experience practicing immigration law in a private practice, ideally with HNW and business immigration experience. You will have a demonstrable track record of achieving billing and time targets that are appropriate for your position and level of qualification.

You will need to demonstrate a knowledge of: Tier 2 work permit and sponsorship-based visa applications including licensing as a sponsor with UKVI and ongoing compliance with the sponsor regime and immigration compliance audits; Tier 1 (Investor) and Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visas; Tier 4 student visas; British citizenship and indefinite leave to remain/settlement applications; EEA related applications and advice; and challenging unlawful UKVI decisions by judicial review or appeal.

You will also have a demonstrable track record of achieving billing and time targets that are appropriate for their position and level of qualification.

Senior Caseworker (Outreach)

Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Caseworker (Outreach) will be responsible for delivering high quality legal services on the full range of immigration and welfare issues that affect migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. A central part of your role will be working providing legal services on an outreach basis, including our charity partners Pathway (supporting homeless migrant hospital patients), British Red Cross (supporting destitute asylum seekers), and others. You will also contribute to our growing private client immigration practice which provides the highest quality legal representation to private and corporate clients while subsidising the charity’s work for poorer clients.

You will be a self-starter and need to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience of legal representation on immigration and asylum matters as well as at least 1-year experience of maintaining a caseload of complex asylum cases in line with OISC and LAA regulatory requirements;
You will have Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme Level 2 or current OISC Level 3 accreditation.

Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Caseworker (Statelessness) will be responsible for maintaining a caseload of complex immigration, asylum, and statelessness cases. A key part of this role will be working with the Statelessness Casework & Policy Coordinator and a network of pro bono lawyers on MRC’s growing statelessness practice.

You will be a self-starter and need to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience of legal representation on immigration and asylum matters as well as at least 1-year experience of maintaining a caseload of complex asylum cases in line with OISC and LAA regulatory requirements;

You will have Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme Level 2 or current OISC Level 3 accreditation.

The environment for those concerned about migration and refugee protection issues is extremely challenging.  Following our merger with Asylum Aid last year, we have agreed an ambitious new five-year strategy that reflects the urgency of immigration issues in the UK, as well as our growing role in the migration and refugee sector. To help us achieve our aims in this challenging environment, we are looking for trustees with experience that will help guide the organisation as we undertake new and exciting work.

Fundraising Trustee

MRC is seeking to recruit a Trustee with particular experience of major donor fundraising to support the development of this aspect of our strategy. In addition to the attributes required of all Trustees, the Fundraising Trustee should also demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in major donor fundraising either at board/senior management level or as a significant donor yourself
  • Ability to provide oversight, advice, challenge and support for our income generation from the public and high net worth individuals
  • Ability to serve on the Fundraising Committee, ensuring compliance with fundraising & data protection regulations

Volunteers are needed to support our administration team. We are looking for people with good communication skills (knowledge of other languages would be very useful) to greet our clients and provide vital support to the administration of the charity.

Volunteers are needed to assist our legal team  under the direct supervision of the Legal Services Manager.

Job Search Support Group Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist with Job seeker support, helping the centre users  improve their CV, set up email accounts, complete online job applications, practice for interviews, or simply search for jobs . We are looking for people with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (knowledge of other languages would be very useful), those who have patience and good listening skills and can help unemployed adults on a one-to-one basis.

Community Health Coach/Trainer Volunteer

We are looking for individuals who have a background or interest in health issues, who can help us run health initiatives in the community. This could include training, activities, and coaching. We are ideally looking for people who also have first or second hand experience of migration (including refugees and asylum seekers), and especially people who can speak other languages, so as to facilitate community engagement.

Volunteer Digital Media Coaches

We are looking for persons with a flair for digital skills to teach our beginner and intermediate computer classes. Some classes cover functional digital skills to enable active citizenship using digital technology and the internet. Your role initially will be to provide one-to-one support and teaching assistance. You may also be able to deliver your own class after a period of observation. Other classes provide office-type practice for those who wish to pursue their education, studies or work in an office environment. We are also particularly keen to take on people who speak different languages, to support a wider range of service users (including Lingala, Amharic, Tigrinya, Arabic, Portugese, Spanish, Italian, Farsi)

Volunteer English Teachers

MRC is seeking CELTA/TEFL qualified teachers who would like to volunteer at least 2 hours per week to teaching English (ESOL) to adult migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. We offer morning, afternoon and evening classes at different levels, from Pre-Entry (beginners) to Level 2 (Upper Intermediate).

Legal Administration Volunteer

We are looking to recruit volunteers to assist with translation work, interviewing and assessing clients and day to day tasks to ensure the smooth running of drop in advice sessions. Knowledge of an additional language is essential, but community languages such as Farsi and Bengali would be an asset.
